SUPER BOWL XLIX: Green Bay 49 Denver 34

The Green Bay Packers Defeated the Denver Broncos 49 - 34 in a shoot out at Phoenix

Stadium. The game matched two great QBs, Packer QB Aaron  Rodgers and Bronco QB Payton Manning against each other. They combined for 8 TDs and over 600 yards passing. Like two fighters the Packers and Broncos traded blows. The Broncos would strike first, as Payton Manning marched the Broncos 88 yards in 11 plays to a TD on a 28 yard pass to WR D. Thomas. The Broncos stop the Packers on their first drive but  Packers received an unexpected gift. Payton Manning's 8th pass of the game was Intercepted by Packer CB Sam Shields and returned 61 yards for a TD, tying the score 7 - 7. The following kickoff was returned by Bronco return man Omar Bolden 83 yards giving the Broncos a first and 10 on the Packers 20 yard line. Two plays later Payton Manning hit RB CJ Anderson for 11 yards and a TD. The Packer QB Aaron Rodgers responded by marching the Pack 82 yards in 13 plays to a TD, to tie the score at 14- 14. Payton Manning answered back by marching the Broncos 76 yards in 12 plays to score on a 14 yard pass to WR D. Thomas (his second TD of the day), the Bronco's kicker missed the XP giving the Broncos a 6 point lead,  20 - 14. With 
2:19 left to play in the half,  The Packer's QB Aaron Rodgers then marched the Packers 67 yards in 7 plays in 1:40 to score on an 11 yard hitch pass to HB Eddie Lacy. The Packer's kicker made the XP and the Packer took a 1 point lead into the Half, Green Bay 21 - Denver 20.  In the second half Green Bay score 14 unanswered points on two TD passes from QB Aaron Rodgers to WR Jordy Nelson and the Packers lead 35 - 20. Then Payton Manning marched the Broncos 66 yard in 9 plays to cut the Packer lead to 8 with a 12 yard TD pass to WR D. Thomas (his 3rd TD of the game). The Packers responded by marching 41 yards in 4 plays to score on a 3 yard dive by RB Eddie Lacy, Packers 42 - Broncos 27. Payton Manning then drove the Broncos 80 yards in 15 plays to score on an 8 yard run by RB CJ Anderson and cut the Packer lead to 8 with 4:00 left in the game. The Broncos attempted an onside kick but the Packers recovered on the Packer 48 yard line and ran down the clock, scoring the final TD with :50 left in the game on a 5 yard run by RB James Starks. The final score Green Bay 49 - Denver 34. Congrats to James on a great season with the Broncos.
